Dr. Art is a board certified pediatrician with 20 years of experience devoted to the training and practice of General Pediatrics and Neonatal Medicine. Dr. Art received his MD degree in 1988 from the University of El Salvador and then started his residency in Pediatrics at Maimonides Infant's & Children's Hospital of Brooklyn / State University of New York - Downstate Medical Center, located in Brooklyn, NY; after completing his residency, Dr. Art continued with further training with a Fellowship in Neonatology at Miller Children's Hospital at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center / University of California-Irvine Medical Center , located in Long Beach, California. Presently, Dr. Art is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (1991), he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (1992), and Fellow of the American Board of Hospital Physicians (2004) ; he holds active and unrestricted MD licenses in the states of California and Florida. His current hospital appointments include Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA, where he serves as Chair of the Section of Pediatrics, and Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA where he is an attending pediatrician and previously served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Art also held academic appointments in his country of origin, El Salvador, including Chair of Neonatology at National Children's Hospital, Chair of Pediatrics of University Dr. JM Delgado's School of Medicine, and also served as pediatric advisor for state department and military personnel with the Health Unit of the US Embassy in El Salvador. |
